Neighbourhood Heating & Cooling traces its roots back to 2014, when Kirby Reid and Tyla Langdon founded
Neighbourhood Plumbing and Heating to serve homeowners in Ladner and Tsawwassen.
As the company grew, so did our team and our reputation for quality workmanship and honest service.
In 2025, we made the decision to step away from general plumbing and focus entirely on heating, cooling, gas, and ventilation systems.
With that shift came a new name, Neighbourhood Heating & Cooling, reflecting our specialized focus.
Today we install, service, repair, and maintain the systems that keep your home comfortable and operating safely.
Our work includes furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioning systems, radiant heating boilers, fireplaces, water heaters, ventilation
systems, and gas piping.
Neighbourhood Heating & Cooling is a family run company led by Kirby Reid and Tyla Langdon.
We live here, volunteer here, and support charities, schools, and community events throughout South Delta.
Our goal is simple: clear communication, clean workmanship, and heating and cooling
systems installed and serviced to the highest standards.
As a family-run business, our community is important to us. We are active members of both the Ladner Business Association and the Delta Chamber of Commerce as well as BNI Pulse.

Kirby Reid
Founder & Technician
Kirby Reid is the founder and owner of Neighbourhood Heating & Cooling. As a Red Seal certified plumber and gasfitter, Kirby brings years of hands-on technical knowledge and experience to the heating and cooling industry. His keen eye for detail and practical, creative approach have proven invaluable in developing smart, reliable heating and cooling solutions for Neighbourhood clients.
Kirby believes in keeping things simple and has built Neighbourhood Heating & Cooling on the core values of honesty, integrity, and good old-fashioned hard work.
Kirby claims he has salt water running through his veins. This is because he has a deep appreciation for the ocean and the British Columbia coastline. He feels fortunate to live so close to the water and enjoys that he never has to travel far to be at the beach in Tsawwassen.

Tyla Langdon
PARTNER & ADMINISTRATION
Tyla Langdon co-owns Neighbourhood Heating & Cooling along with, husband Kirby Reid. She holds a diploma in sales and marketing from BCIT and manages the finances and HR aspects of the business. She is essential in operating behind the scenes, conducting office duties that help keep the business running smoothly.
Outside of work, Tyla is a dedicated mom to two boys and volunteers her time through various school activities and both her sons' sports in Ladner, Tsawwassen, and North Delta. Although raised on a lake in the East Kootenays, she enjoys all the activities the ocean has to offer and can often be found boating, fishing, or exploring on a paddleboard.

Tiffany Rasmussen
Office manager
Tiffany Rasmussen has built her career working in the plumbing, heating and cooling industry. Her customer service skills are unmatched, and she is truly valued at Neighbourhood for her friendly, compassionate nature. She is the first point of contact in the office, managing incoming calls, dispatching, scheduling, permitting, and assisting with invoicing and accounts payables.
Having spent most of her life in Ladner and Tsawwassen, Tiffany has deep community ties to South Delta. Outside of work, she enjoys off-roading with her family in their Jeep, but Tiffany’s real passion is baseball and has spent countless hours volunteering and coaching her son's team over the years. When baseball season is in full swing, you can bet she’ll be at the field rain or shine!
Mike Ashton
HEATING AND COOLING Solutions Manager
Mike Ashton is a third-generation gas fitter who brings many years of industry experience to Neighbourhood Heating & Cooling. Known for his approachable manner and extensive knowledge of heat pumps, furnaces, and radiant heating, he is a trusted resource for clients and a valued team member. He takes time to understand each client's needs and delivers practical, reliable heating and cooling solutions tailored to each unique application.
Mike is a rare gem and is known around the shop for his positive attitude and genuine smile. He’s always the first to volunteer his time in Ladner and Tsawwassen at the many community events that Neighbourhood is involved in; however, outside of work, he loves to spend time with his family, especially his granddaughter, whom he’s known to have a tea party with from time to time.
Leon Haaland
Gas fitter & technician
Leon Haaland began his career in plumbing and heating in 2013 and has continued to hone his skills ever since. He thoroughly enjoys troubleshooting and has a genuine interest in learning and improving his craft. As both an installer and service technician at, Leon takes pride in solving problems efficiently and thoughtfully, making him a highly valued team member of the Neighbourhood Heating & Cooling team.
Leon moved to Tsawwassen at the age of ten and has proudly called South Delta home ever since. Most of his free time is spent with his son and daughter. He loves the outdoors and often heads out crabbing with Kirby in the early morning hours before work when their schedules allow.
Dave Hirata
technician & installer
Dave Hirata joined Neighbourhood Heating & Cooling after many years of collaborating closely with the team on residential renovation projects. Well-known in the South Delta community for his renovation expertise, he frequently partnered with Neighbourhood on various jobs. He later chose to retrain in HVAC and gas fitting, transitioning full-time to the company.
Dave is a man of many talents and brings a versatile and practical skill set to the team. He has broad hands-on experience and is very mechanically inclined, allowing him to tackle a wide range of challenges. Around the shop, it's often said that Dave knows how to do just about everything, and there's more than a grain of truth to that. In his free time, he enjoys staying active and spending time with his family.
Brian Toews

Brian Toews is well known in the heating and cooling industry, and carries impressive credentials to back up his extensive industry knowledge. He embraces evolving technology and seeks innovative, creative solutions for homeowners. His genuine interest in the field and coupled with his technical knowledge make him a valued member of the Neighbourhood Heating & Cooling team.
Brian is extremely imaginative with an impeccable eye for detail, both at work and in his personal life. In his free time, he’s built a sophisticated beer and kombucha brewery, an impressive home sauna and cold plunge set up, and he is also very passionate about his 3D printing business that he started with his 3 kids, who are the center of his universe.
Nigel Lee
technician & installer
Nigel Lee began working in the heating and cooling trade in 2011 and has been building his skills and expertise ever since. He is focused on becoming a highly skilled installer and has extensive experience with furnaces, radiant heating boiler systems, dual fuel systems, ductless mini-split heat pump systems, and tankless water heaters. His laidback attitude and kind nature are welcomed attributes to the Neighbourhood team.
Outside of work, Nigel enjoys spending time with his young family and getting away to their family cabin as often as possible. He is also a very big Vancouver Canucks fan.
